Hi Gale,
I just wanted to say I am glad I met you and thank you for the help you provided me with the overwhelming emotions I felt when trying to talk about losing my daughter to melanoma. I try to share and educate people about the importance of getting dermatologist appointments at least yearly and doing self checks of their skin to catch any spots early before they go deep and get into the blood or lymph system. But when I started to talk about all the important information like wearing a shot glass full of sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher and staying away from tanning beds, I would become tongue tied due to the grief I felt. All the images of what JoAnn went through in her five year battle with “the beast” melanoma would come flooding back. You helped guide me to the source of the pain; I learned how to let it go and to be able to get to the safe place to feel the joy and love of having a daughter so wonderful as she.
